Training and LaCERE |
|
LaCERE is community entrepreneurship structure that explores funding options for emerging entrepreneurs and provides a structured program for developing the skills and tools needed to encourage rural entrepreneurship. At the same time, it develops incentives to encourage the next generation of motivated business people to settle and get involved in the region. LaCERE is an entrepreneurial cooperative in which young graduates and salaried employees work to carry out their business projects, from putting together business plans to prototyping, pre-marketing, marketing and so on. Salaried entrepreneurs learn their trade by working within a rigorous framework. They are supervised by economic development professionals for a period of one to three years, and agree to participate in an educational program. During their time at LaCERE, salaried entrepreneurs are required to develop a project that leads to the launch of their small- or medium-sized business. Because they develop and market their product or service within the LaCERE structure, they avoid having to pay their own salary, acquire business or tax registration numbers, buy insurance, etc. |
